Deep satisfaction can come from making, using and owning a quality product. At the Good Grocer we appreciate traditional craftsmanship and the level of skill it takes someone to make something beautiful with their hands.
Long time fans of YSTUDIO's heritage pieces, we couldn't have been more excited to discover their sustainable range of pens made from discarded fishing nets. The perfect sustainability, stationery, design mash up.
Yi and Yanko founded YSTUDIO in 2012, combining contemporary Taiwanese design with traditional craftsmanship to create beautiful writing tools that will last a lifetime. Celebrating heritage methods of production, they work together with traditional craftsmen to produce their stationery pieces, hoping to create a virtuous circle of local design and manufacture. The brand embodies the philosophy of simplicity and elegance. They use high quality natural materials such as brass and copper, which age gracefully over time, making each piece unique.
YSTUDIO is passionate about valuing and preserving objects, aiming to extend their service life and alleviate the burden on our planet. The brand’s Ocean Sustainable range is made from abandoned fishing nets, recovered from the oceans around Taiwan.
