Founded by Jacqui & Josh Bahen, Bahen & Co make stone ground chocolate from bean to bar, a traditional approach to chocolate making that returns to a slower pace of a previous time. Their chocolate factory operates from the family farm in Margaret River - Western Australia, a region with a raw natural beauty and strong community that supports the efforts of its small producers.

Chocolate can only be as good as the quality of the cacao it’s made from and Jacqui & Josh spend a lot of time searching for the rare varieties of heritage cacao that produce the finest flavours, taking them to some of the most remote and beautiful places on the planet.

Bahen & Co prioritise building long-term relationships with cacao farmers based on the solid principles of mutual benefit, transparency and fairness. By paying direct and cutting out the middleman, they exceed Fair Trade and pay prices that respect the farmer's efforts to grow quality cacao. 

By working direct, Bahen & Co have managed to build a transparent and honest supply chain. They know the genetics of the cacao they are sourcing, the farms and the farmers, and the relationships they have formed mean the chocolate they produce can speak to its origin.

Once picked, fermented and transported to Margaret River, every step of the production process is designed to preserve the natural flavours of the cacao.

Bahen & Co’s chocolate is produced using restored vintage machines, designed before the days of emulsifiers and mass produced chocolate. The slower pace and simplicity of its production show in the extraordinary quality of the end product, hand wrapped in designs depicting Jacqui & Josh's trips to the chocolate lands.
